THEATRE WORKS FEST 2026

Theatre Works Fest 2026 marks our third year of bringing world-class international and local facilitators together for one extraordinary week of professional training and development, right here in the city we’re so proud to call home.  And this year, we’re not holding back.

MANIFEST Residency

MANIFEST is a new work residency, aimed at artists with early ideas.  It lasts for four days where they will have access to a rehearsal space and guidance from three established practitioners throughout the time.  It is a free residency and is concluded with work in progress showing on the final day.

MANIFEST first took place in 2023 before the first Theatre Works Fest.  It's success lead us lead us to include it into future festivals, and it has now thoroughly become cemented in the Theatre Works Fest programme.  Click here for more details

Complicité Masterclass with Joyce Henderson

Our three-day Masterclass will be led by one of the UK’s most renowned theatre companies Complicité. Company Associate Joyce Henderson will guide participants through an in-depth exploration of the fundamental elements that make Complicité’s distinctive approach to theatre so extraordinary.

This immersive workshop invites artists to come together and, over the course of three days, begin to build an ensemble through physical training and play. Participants will encounter games and exercises rooted in Complicité’s celebrated practices, developing greater awareness of the communicative power between performer, movement, space, and physical expression. The work will culminate in exploring how these tools can be used to create rich, imaginative storytelling that connects deeply with audiences. Click here for more details.
