Mentoring
Not every artist needs a programme, residency or workshop. Sometimes you need an outside eye on an idea, someone to help you work through a problem, or a conversation with another theatre-maker who understands the challenges of getting work made.
Amadan provides mentoring and practical support to independent artists and theatre-makers at different stages of their careers.
Mentoring might involve offering an outside eye on an idea, script, performance or work in progress; exploring how an initial idea can be developed in the rehearsal room; or providing practical advice around planning, budgets, collaborators, venues and producing your own work. We can also support artists in thinking through funding, developing and communicating their ideas, and finding useful ways to test new work and gather feedback. Sometimes, it can be as simple as sitting down together, talking through where you are and figuring out what the next step might be.
We also support artists with funding applications. We know that approaching funding can be daunting, so we offer one-to-one advice sessions to talk through your project, help you understand what funders are looking for and support you in communicating your ideas clearly and confidently.
In the past, we have supported artists to develop shows for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and other international festivals, helping them take work from an early idea through development and
towards performance.

Would you like us to mentor your project? If so, get in touch here and tell us about yourself, your project and how we might be able to help you out.
