WITH JOS HOUBEN

As part of Amadan Ensemble's Theatre Works Fest NI The Lyric's Creative Learning department actor, clown and world renowned teacher Jos Houben is coming to The Lyric to teach an exclusive workshop on physical comedy.
 

Make'em laugh is a three hour action packed slapstick workshop. With gags, funny walks and routines for you to learn, take home and put to use instantly. Jos' friendly teaching method which he has become so well known for will break down why we find things funny and how to sprinkle a little bit of laughter into your performance style.
 

Jos Houben studied theatre at the Jacques Lecoq School and with Philippe Gaulier, Monika Pagneux and Pierre Byland. Jos is an Olivier Award winning original member of Complicité. From 2003 he toured all over the world with his celebrated one-man show ‘The Art Of Laughter’. In 2007, Jos performed in ‘Fragments’, a compilation of short Samuel Beckett pieces directed by Peter Brook. Jos works internationally in theatre, opera , contemporary dance, circus, and as a teacher for numerous organisations, universities and festivals. He has taught at the Ecole Jacques Lecoq since 2000.
